Example of what happens next: Priya Shah scans Marisol’s card, saves Marisol to their contacts and chooses to send their own details back. The next morning at 9 a.m., Cardr Pro reminds Marisol to follow up, with the email already drafted.
Yes: a digital business card without a subscription is Cardr’s free plan. It has no monthly fee and no time limit, and it is the whole card: a signed Apple Wallet pass, your page, your QR code, and every contact who sends their details back. Pro is a subscription, $15 a month or $144 a year, and there is no one-time payment.
- Free, with no end date
- The card, pass, page, QR, the two-way exchange and your contact list, with notes, tags, search and export. No card details.
- Pro, a subscription
- Follow-ups written and reminded, a pipeline, Results and a page that books. 7 days free, then monthly or yearly.
- One-time payment
- Not offered. Free costs nothing, and Pro is billed monthly or yearly, so you can stop paying without losing your card.
The whole swap, with no subscription.
Every step of the swap is on the free plan. Pro only writes and times the follow-up in step three.
-
1
They scan your code
Your QR is on the pass in your Wallet. Their phone camera reads it, no app.
-
2
They save you
Your page opens. Save puts you in their contacts, then they can send you their email or number.
-
3
You follow up
What they send lands in your list with your note. Pro writes the follow-up for you.
ExampleMarisol Vega’s card is the example in the hero, and Marisol Vega and Priya Shah are both invented. Every screen is drawn from the product: the pass, the card page and the email Pro sends.
What stops, and what stays free.
Pro is the work after the meeting. Each line says what Pro does, then what Free keeps on the same ground, in the words of the plan itself.
- Your follow-ups, written and ready. At 9 a.m. your time, Cardr emails you who to follow up, with the message already written from what you talked about. One tap opens it in your email, or WhatsApp when you have their number, ready to send. Free: one draft and reminders about your first three people, to try it on your own.
- Every lead, sorted. See who could turn into work and who you won, at a glance. Nobody slips because they were halfway down a list. Free: your list, notes, tags, who replied, the timeline, search and export. Always.
- See what your card wins you. What came of everyone you met: who replied, what turned into work and what it was worth, by event, by source and by Cardr Metal card. Free: views, scans, swaps and saves, counted, on every plan.
- A page that gets you booked. Pin Book a time or WhatsApp right under Save, so the next step is one tap for the person you just met. Free: booking, WhatsApp and review links on your page, as links.
- All 16 pass designs. Free has Oxford, and nothing on the card is watermarked or withheld. Free: Oxford, as a real signed pass.
What the paid plans cost over time.
A subscription is a yearly cost, so here it is per year and over three. Most of these companies also have a free plan, shown in its own column; the figures are what their cheapest paid plan for one person costs.

Each rival’s figure is its own published price for one person, from its pricing page, read on the date shown; follow the name for the full comparison and the source. Popl sells its plans inside its app, V1CE prices in pounds, and Linq does not publish its subscription price, so none of the three is on this dollar scale. If a figure has moved, tell us.

Pick your address. The card, the pass and every contact are yours for as long as you keep the account.
If you want to pay once.
Some searches for a card with no subscription mean “let me pay once and own it”. Cardr does not sell that. Here is who does something close, and who does the opposite.

| Cardr Free | Nothing | The card, the Wallet pass, your page and every contact, with no time limit | Our own plan |

| Linq | NFC products, $14.99 to $59.99 | “All products require an active subscription before activating to your account” | October 29, 2026 |
Quotes are from each company’s own pages on the date shown. V1CE’s own site prices in pounds; its help center gives the dollar prices.

CompareDigital business card alternativesWho to pick when Cardr is the wrong one.
No subscription, answered.
Is there a digital business card with no subscription?
Yes. Cardr’s free plan has no subscription and no monthly fee, and it does not expire. It is the whole card: a signed Apple Wallet pass, your page at cardr.co/yourname, your QR code, the two-way exchange and every contact, with notes, search and export. You never enter card details unless you choose Pro.
Is there a one-time payment option?
No. Cardr does not sell a lifetime plan. Free costs nothing for as long as you use it, and Pro is a subscription: $15 a month, or $144 a year ($12 a month). If paying once matters most, V1CE sells an NFC card once, from $79, with free software (read October 29, 2026).
Does the free plan expire after a trial?
No. Free is not a trial and has no end date. Your card, Wallet pass, page and contacts stay for as long as you keep the account. Pro is the only part with a trial, and only if you start it.
Is there a monthly fee for the free plan?
No. Free has no monthly fee, no setup fee and no limit on how many people swap details with you or how many contacts you keep. There is nothing running to cancel.
What do I lose without Pro?
The work after the meeting: follow-ups drafted for you and the 9 a.m. reminder email on day 3, the pipeline with stages and deal values, Results, the pinned booking or WhatsApp button, services and client quotes on your page, and 15 more pass designs. Your card and every contact stay free.
If I try Pro and cancel, what happens to my card?
Your card, Wallet pass, page and contacts stay, on Free. Pro’s features stop when the paid period ends, and the set-up of your pinned button and services is kept, not shown. Cancel takes two clicks in Cardr, and Pro bought on cardr.co has 30 days to get your money back.
Do I need a credit card to start?
No. Free takes an email address and nothing else. Pro starts with 7 days free, and that is when card details are asked for, through Stripe.
Why is Cardr free if others charge?
Every card lives at cardr.co/yourname, so every card you hand out shows people where it came from. That only works if the free card is good enough to hand out, so we sell the follow-up instead of the card.
