Terms of service

The agreement.

Use Cardr for a business card that is genuinely yours. Do not use it to impersonate anyone, run a scam, or break the law. Everything below is the detail behind that.

Who you are contracting with

Cardr is operated by [[LEGAL ENTITY NAME]], a company registered in England and Wales under company number [[COMPANY NUMBER]], with its registered office at [[REGISTERED ADDRESS]]. Our VAT number is [[VAT NUMBER]]. You can reach us at [[SUPPORT EMAIL]].

By creating a card you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not create a card.

What you get

Cardr issues a signed Apple Wallet pass that carries your business card, and hosts a public profile page for it. The free tier is a real product rather than a trial: you can keep a card on it indefinitely, and we do not ask for payment details to create one.

Cardr supports Apple Wallet only. Google Wallet is not supported. Cardr does not sell physical NFC hardware and has no CRM integrations.

Your card is your responsibility

You are responsible for the accuracy of what you publish and for holding the rights to any photo or logo you upload. We do not review cards before they go live, but we will remove any card that impersonates another person, infringes a trade mark, or is used to defraud the people who scan it.

Acceptable use

Price, VAT and payment

Pro costs £12 per month, or £9 per month when billed annually. All prices shown to UK consumers include VAT at the prevailing rate. Payment is taken by Stripe on a recurring basis until you cancel.

If we change the price of a plan you are on, we will email you at least 30 days before it takes effect, and you may cancel before then without charge.

Your right to cancel

Statutory 14-day right. If you are a consumer in the UK, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 give you 14 days from the start of a subscription to cancel it for a full refund, with no reason required.

Cardr begins delivering the paid service immediately on payment. By subscribing you ask us to start straight away and acknowledge that once the service is fully performed you lose the statutory right to cancel. In practice we do not rely on that: our own guarantee below is longer and less conditional.

Our 60-day guarantee. If Cardr Pro is not right for you, tell us within 60 days of your first payment and we will refund it in full. You keep the Wallet pass and your card either way, on the free tier. One refund per customer.

You can cancel a subscription at any time from your dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and your card drops to the free tier rather than disappearing. Outside the 14-day statutory window and the 60-day guarantee we do not refund unused time on a period you have already started.

Availability

We aim for high availability but offer no formal service level agreement on the free tier. We back up the database regularly. We may change or withdraw features, and where a change materially reduces what a paid plan offers we will tell you and let you cancel with a pro-rata refund.

Our liability to you

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

If you are a consumer, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable. Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, including that a digital service must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described, apply alongside these terms and are not affected by them.

If you are a business, our total liability arising out of the agreement is limited to the greater of £100 or the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, or loss of anticipated savings.

What we promise not to do

We will not sell your personal data, run advertising on your profile page, insert promotional content into a paying customer's card, or use your data to train a machine-learning model. How we do handle data is set out in the privacy notice.

Ending the agreement

You can delete your card at any time, which ends the agreement and erases the data attached to it. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaks these terms, and where it is reasonable to do so we will warn you first and give you a chance to put it right.

Changes to these terms

If we materially change these terms we will email active users at least 14 days before the change takes effect. If you do not accept the change you can cancel before it applies.

Complaints, law and jurisdiction

If something has gone wrong, email [[SUPPORT EMAIL]] and we will reply within five working days. If we cannot resolve it between us, you may be able to use an alternative dispute resolution scheme; we will tell you which one applies at the time.

These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you may bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in the courts there. If you are a business, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
