Best digital business card for lawyers The referral goes to the lawyer they can find.
A free Apple Wallet card for bar events and consultations: attorneys and clients scan it, save you, and can send their details back.
Free forever · No card details · About a minute
cardr.co/james-whitaker
Example of what happens next: Rachel Ortiz scans James’s card, saves James to their contacts and chooses to send their own details back. The next morning at 9 a.m., Cardr Pro reminds James to follow up, with the email already drafted.
Referrals between lawyers usually start at a bar event, then wait months for the right matter. By then your paper card is in a jacket pocket. Cardr saves you to their phone with one scan, and they can send their details back. Your note says who they are and what they send.

Every rival figure was read that day from its own pages (Popl, Wave, Uniqode, KADO) and quoted or worked out from what they publish; team prices are the published per-seat price times 5. Prices are in US dollars. “Not stated” means their published pages did not say, so we have not guessed. Cardr’s prices are from our pricing page. - Four conversations

- Hands full
An hour of name tags and wine after a CLE session, and maybe four conversations that matter.
- Four conversations. An hour after a CLE session, and only a few talks that ever turn into a referral.
- Months later. The matter they could send you may not exist yet. Your number has to be there when it does.
- Hands full. A glass in one hand and a name tag on. Anything with two steps does not happen.
Each constraint decides the format. A card that fails any one of the three does not get used a second time, however good it looks.

The attorney you meet at a bar association mixer may not have a matter for you for months. When one comes, they refer the lawyer whose number is in their phone. A paper card has to survive a jacket pocket until then. Cardr puts you in their contacts with one scan, and after they save you they can send their own details back, so you can reach them too.
The same card works across the table at a first consultation. Keep the note to who someone is and how to reach them; matter details belong in your practice management system.
Your card is a communication about your services. ABA Model Rule 7.1 bars false or misleading communications, and Rule 7.2(c) bars stating or implying that you are a certified specialist unless an approved body has certified you (ABA Model Rule 7.1, Rule 7.2). Each state adopts its own version: Minnesota kept its own specialist rule, now Rule 7.2(c), rather than take the ABA text (Minnesota Supreme Court order, May 13, 2022). Read on October 29, 2026. Check your state bar’s rule before you put “specialist” in your title; Cardr carries what you put on the card and gives no legal advice.

What is the best digital business card for lawyers?
For a firm that needs a security report and Salesforce, Uniqode. For business development at events with a team, Popl or Wave. For a solo attorney who wants a free Apple Wallet card and the follow-up drafted in their own email, Cardr. Check your state bar’s advertising rules whichever you choose.
Is a digital business card allowed under bar advertising rules?
The same rules apply as to a paper card. ABA Model Rule 7.1 bars anything false or misleading, and your state’s version of Rule 7.2 governs claims such as “certified specialist”, and some states restrict the word “specialist” itself (ABA Rule 7.2). Check your state bar’s rule; Cardr gives no legal advice.
Should I keep client details in Cardr?
Keep notes to who someone is and how to reach them. Cardr is a contact list, not a practice management system, and it is not built to hold privileged or matter information.
Do clients need an app?
No. Your QR code opens your card as a web page on their phone, iPhone or Android, and they save you to their contacts from there. Nobody downloads an app or creates an account.
Does it connect to Clio or my CRM?
No. Cardr has no integrations with other software. Every plan, including free, exports your contacts to CSV and vCard files.
Can my firm give every attorney a card?
Yes, with Cardr Teams: one place to run everyone’s cards, with your branding on each. It is $49 a month for a team of 5, and the 30-day trial needs no card details.
What does it cost?
Free forever, no card details: your card, page and Apple Wallet pass, the two-way exchange, and every contact with notes, search and export. Pro, $15 a month or $144 a year ($12 a month), adds written follow-ups with reminders, a pipeline, a booking page and all 16 pass designs. 7 days free, then 30 days to change your mind.
Free forever. About a minute to build.
Nothing for the other person to install, and no card details to start.
