Cardr is a free digital business card that works in Australia on the phones people carry, with nothing for anyone to install. Your card is a real pass in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. The person you meet points their camera at its QR code, your page opens, and they save you to their contacts and can send their own details straight back.

Free in Australia. About a minute.

Take your name at cardr.co and put a real Wallet pass on your phone. No card details, and nothing for the people you meet to install.

Which wallet it lives in.

Apple Wallet is part of iOS, so every iPhone in Australia has it, and a Cardr pass goes into it free. Google lists Australia among the countries where it offers Google Wallet (Google’s country list, read 12 October 2026).

So Cardr works on both. On an Android phone running Android 9 or later, with Google Play services (Google’s requirements), your card goes into Google Wallet; on an iPhone, into Apple Wallet. Both passes are free, carry the same QR code and update when you edit your card. See the Google Wallet business card for how it looks.

The person you meet is not affected either way. On an iPhone or an Android phone, their camera opens your page from the QR code, they save you to their contacts, and they can send their own details back. They install nothing and never receive a pass.

What you pay from Australia.

The card is free in Australia, as it is everywhere: the Wallet pass, your page, the QR code, the two-way exchange and every contact it brings back, with notes, tags and export. No card details are taken to start.

Pro is the follow-up done for you: drafts written from your notes in your voice, a reminder on day 3 after you meet someone, and every pass design. Cardr charges people in Australia in US dollars, not Australian dollars: Pro is $15 a month, or $12 a month billed yearly ($144 a year). Visitors from Australia see that price on our pricing page, and it is what checkout charges. Your card issuer may add a fee for a payment in a foreign currency.

Their details, and Australian law.

When someone sends you their details through your card, they hand them to you on purpose, so you can stay in touch. What Australian law then asks depends on your business and on what you send.

The Privacy Act 1988

Its 13 Australian Privacy Principles apply to the organisations the Act covers: in general, those with an annual turnover above $3 million, plus some smaller businesses whatever their size, such as one that sells or buys personal information (OAIC: rights and responsibilities). If it covers you, the principles deal with what you may collect (APP 3), telling people you have collected it (APP 5), using it only for the purpose you collected it for (APP 6), direct marketing (APP 7), keeping it secure (APP 11) and giving people access to it (APP 12), as the OAIC’s quick reference sets them out.

The Spam Act 2003, for the follow-up

A follow-up email that markets something is covered by the Spam Act. The ACMA says you need consent before you send one, express or, in narrower cases, inferred; the message must identify you and give your contact details; and it must make unsubscribing easy (ACMA: avoid sending spam). The ACMA calls express consent the best practice, and lists face to face among the ways to get it.

Cardr drafts your follow-up from your note; you send it from your own mail app, so what it says, and who it goes to, stays your decision. What Cardr itself stores, and how to have it deleted, is on our privacy page. Contacts export to CSV or vCard on the free plan.

A plain summary of public guidance, to help you think it through. It is not legal advice. Sources, read 12 October 2026: OAIC, rights and responsibilities; OAIC, APP quick reference; ACMA, avoid sending spam.

If you are comparing Blinq.

Blinq is based in Australia. On its own pricing page, as we read it on 12 October 2026, its free tier is two cards, “Unlimited sharing” and “Unlimited contact creation”, and its paid plans are these: Premium $9.99 a month, or $7.33 a month billed annually. Business $6.99 per card a month, or $4.99 billed annually, with a "minimum of five" cards. Enterprise is quoted. That page may show a different currency where you are.

If you want cards that feed a CRM you already run, Blinq is the more complete product, and we would tell you to buy it: it lists “Native integration with 20+ CRMs”. Cardr has no CRM integrations.

Cardr is built around what happens after the meeting: their details come back to you in the exchange, you keep one sentence about who they are, and Pro reminds you on the day and drafts the message. The side-by-side, with sources, is on Cardr vs Blinq, and every product with its published price is on digital business card prices.

Questions

Digital business cards in Australia, asked.

Does Cardr work in Australia?

Yes, in every state and territory. Your card lives in Apple Wallet on an iPhone or Google Wallet on an Android phone, and your page at cardr.co/yourname opens on any phone with a browser. Nothing about it depends on where you are.

Is there a free digital business card in Australia?

Yes. Cardr’s card is free forever, in Australia as everywhere: the Wallet pass, your page, the QR code, the two-way exchange and your contacts, with no card details taken, no scan cap and no expiry. It comes in Oxford, the free design.

What is the best digital business card in Australia?

It depends on what you need after the meeting. If your contacts must flow into a CRM, Blinq, which is based in Australia, is the more complete product. If you want the complete card free and the follow-up done for you, that is what Cardr is for. Our round-up compares each product, with its published price and the date we read it.

Is an electronic business card the same thing?

Yes. An electronic, digital or virtual business card all mean your contact details in a form a phone can open and save, instead of printed on paper. Cardr’s is a signed Wallet pass with a QR code, and a page at cardr.co/yourname.

What does it cost in Australian dollars?

Cardr does not charge in Australian dollars. The card is free. Pro is $15 a month, or $12 a month billed yearly, charged in US dollars; your card issuer may add a fee for a foreign-currency payment.

Can I put my 04 mobile on it?

Yes. Numbers are entered with their country dialling code, so an 04 mobile is saved with +61 in front and dials correctly when the person you met calls you from Sydney or from abroad.

Is it an NFC card?

No. Cardr is QR-based and sells no NFC cards. The person you meet points their camera at your code and your page opens, on any phone. If you already own an NFC card, most can be rewritten to your cardr.co address with a free NFC app; see our guide to NFC business cards.
