vCard generator. Create a .vcf file free.
Type your details, add a photo if you like, and download a contact file any phone can save. Built in your browser, in the format Cardr itself sends.
BEGIN:VCARD VERSION:3.0 … type a name and your file appears here END:VCARD
Nothing is stored. The file is written from what you type.
This vCard generator writes a .vcf contact file from your details, photo included, that iPhone, Android, Outlook and Google Contacts all import. Free, no signup, and the photo is added in your browser, never uploaded. It is the same vCard 3.0 Cardr’s own Save button sends.
Create a vCard in four steps.

- N sorts the contact
- ORG under the name
- TEL tap to call
-
01
Fill in what you want shared
A name and one way to reach you is enough. Every field is optional; an empty one is left out of the file.
-
02
Add a photo, if you want
Choose a picture and it is cropped square, shrunk to 400 pixels and written into the file as a JPEG, in your browser. It never travels to a server.
-
03
Download the .vcf
The file is named after you. The text beside the button is exactly what is inside it.
-
04
Send it or import it
Attach it to an email or a message; the other person taps it and their phone offers to save you. To add it to your own phone, open it there.
What each line in the file does.
The file beside the form is the real output. Here is how a phone reads it.
| Line | What it holds | How phones use it |
|---|---|---|
N and FN |
Your name, split (family; given) and as shown | N sorts the contact; FN is the name on screen. 3.0 requires both. |
ORG, TITLE |
Company and job title | Shown under the name; searchable. |
TEL;TYPE=CELL, TYPE=WORK |
Mobile and work numbers | Labelled mobile and work; tap to call or text. |
EMAIL |
Your address | Tap to write. |
URL, URL;TYPE=linkedin |
Website and LinkedIn | Tappable links on the contact. |
ADR;TYPE=WORK |
Street; city; state; ZIP; country | Tap for directions in Maps. |
PHOTO;ENCODING=b;TYPE=JPEG |
Your photo as base64 text | The picture in Contacts, calls and Messages. |
Text is escaped (a comma or semicolon gets a backslash) and lines over 75 bytes are folded, as RFC 2426 asks, so long values survive every importer.

vCard questions.
How do I create a vCard file?
Fill in the form on this page and press Download .vcf. You get a vCard 3.0 file named after you that any iPhone, Android phone, Mac, Outlook or Google Contacts can import. No signup.
Can I add a photo to a vCard?
Yes. Choose one in the generator and it is cropped square, resized to 400 pixels and embedded in the file as a JPEG, all in your browser. That keeps the file small enough for every phone; very large embedded photos are refused or shrunk by some.
How do I create a vCard on iPhone?
In the Contacts app, open your own card, tap Share Contact, and send it; iPhone attaches it as a .vcf. Or open this page in Safari, fill it in and download the file to Files.
How do I make a vCard QR code?
Press Make a QR code from these details under the generator. It opens the vCard QR code generator with your name, company, title, phone, email and website filled in. The photo and address stay out, because they would make the code too dense to print small.
Which vCard version does this make?
Version 3.0 (RFC 2426), the version iPhone and Mac Contacts write and the one every current phone reads. 4.0 adds little that phones use, and some still read it poorly.
Is the vCard generator free?
Yes, with no signup, no email and no watermark, for personal or business use. The details you type appear in the page address so a result can be bookmarked; the photo never does.
Can I edit a vCard file later?
It is plain text, so any text editor can change it, or come back here and make a new one. But copies you have already sent do not change: every phone that saved you keeps the old details.
