Digital business card in Dubai and the UAE.

A digital business card for Dubai that works on the phones people here carry: Google Wallet on Android, Apple Wallet on iPhone, and nothing for the person you meet to install. Free forever, in English, and honest below about NFC.

Cardr is a free digital business card that works in Dubai on the phones people there carry. On Android, which is about four in five phones in the UAE, your card lives in Google Wallet; on an iPhone it lives in Apple Wallet. Both are free. The person you meet points their camera at your QR code and your page opens: no app, no NFC chip, nothing to tap.

No app for them
Their camera opens your page; they save you to their contacts and can send their details back.

Every phone camera reads a QR code. No chip, no tapping in the right spot.
What matters here

What a card has to do in the UAE.

Six things, from the way people in the UAE use their phones. Five are yes; the sixth we say plainly.

Android first

Four phones in five are Android.

In the UAE, Android had 80.77% of mobile web use and iOS 19.16%, averaged over October 2025 to September 2026 (StatCounter, read 9 October 2026). iPhone’s share rose through that year. Either way, a digital business card in Dubai that only works on an iPhone is a card for one person in five.

So Cardr works on both. On an Android phone running Android 9 or later, your card goes into Google Wallet; on an iPhone, into Apple Wallet. Both passes are free, carry the same QR code and update themselves when you edit your card. See the Google Wallet business card for how it looks.

What matters more is the other side of the exchange. The person across the table at a Business Bay meeting or a stand at a Dubai exhibition should not have to install anything. With Cardr they do not: their camera opens your page, they save you to their contacts, and they can send their own details back to you in the same moment.

About NFC

No chip, and no tap to miss.

Searches for business cards in Dubai often ask for NFC. Cardr is not an NFC card, and here is why that is fine.

An NFC card works when the other phone has NFC switched on, supports it in the background and is held in the right spot. A QR code works when a camera is pointed roughly at it, which every iPhone and Android phone can do from the camera app with nothing to install. In a busy hall in Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Sharjah, the code that always scans beats the chip that sometimes does.

Cardr sells no NFC cards. If you already own one, most can be rewritten to your cardr.co address with a free NFC writer app, and it will open your Cardr. More on that in our guide to NFC business cards.

If you want something to hand over, Cardr Metal, our engraved metal cards with your QR code, ships to the UK only for now. You can join the waitlist for the UAE on the Cardr Metal page.

Questions

Digital business cards in Dubai, asked.

Does Cardr work in Dubai and the rest of the UAE?

Yes, in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and every other emirate. Your card lives in Google Wallet on your Android phone or Apple Wallet on your iPhone, and your page at cardr.co/yourname opens on any phone with a browser. Nothing about it depends on where you are.

Is it an NFC business card?

No. Cardr is QR-based, and sells no NFC cards. The person you meet points their camera at your code and your page opens, on any iPhone or Android phone, with no chip and no tap in the right spot. If you already own an NFC card or tag, you can usually rewrite it to your cardr.co address with a free NFC app, and it will open your Cardr too.

Does it work on Android?

Yes. On an Android phone running Android 9 or later, with Google Play services, your card goes into Google Wallet, free, with the same QR code as the Apple Wallet pass. The people you meet need no app on any phone.

What does it cost in the UAE?

The card is free forever: the Wallet pass, your page, the QR code, the two-way exchange and your contacts. Pro, the follow-up done for you, is $15 a month, or $12 a month billed yearly ($144 a year). The price shown is the price you pay.

Can I put a +971 number on it?

Yes. Numbers are entered with a country dialling code, the UAE’s +971 included, so a mobile saved from your card dials correctly from Dubai or from abroad.

Can I order metal business cards in the UAE?

Not yet. Cardr Metal ships to the UK only for now, and we would rather say so than take an order we cannot deliver well. Choose the United Arab Emirates under “Outside the UK?” on the Cardr Metal page to join the waitlist, and we will email you once if it ever ships there. Your free digital card works in the UAE today.

Is there an Arabic version?

Not yet. Cardr’s pages, the card builder and our emails are in English. Your card shows whatever you type on it.
