Free tool

Follow-up message generator.

Type who you met, where, and what you talked about. You get three drafts, an email, a LinkedIn message and a text, to check, copy and send yourself. No signup.

Nothing is sent from this page. To write the drafts, what you type goes to Google’s Gemini API; Cardr does not store it. Privacy

Cardr writes this for every person you meet, and reminds you. Here you start from memory. With a Cardr you save one sentence about someone as you walk away, for free; Pro drafts the message from it and emails it to you at 09:00 on the day your note named, ready to send by email, WhatsApp or text. 7 days free.

Cardr Pro writes these for you after every meeting

Your three drafts

They appear here: an email, a LinkedIn message and a text, each with a button to copy it.

Email

Subject and message

A subject line and a short message, signed off, for your own inbox.

LinkedIn

Message

One or two sentences, for a message or the note on a connection request.

Text

WhatsApp or text

A couple of lines, for someone who gave you their number.

Before you send one

Three checks, then send.

Every draft here follows the five parts in our guide to following up after a networking event: their first name, where you met, one thing they said, a small ask or none, and a plain sign-off.

  1. The detail is theirs. The line about what you talked about is only as good as what you typed. If it reads vague, put in the thing they actually said.
  2. Nothing you did not promise. Take out any offer you will not follow through on. A draft cannot know what you have time for.
  3. A channel they gave you. Email by default. LinkedIn for someone you only have a name and a company for, and a text only if they gave you their number for it.

Then send it within a day or two, while they can still place you. When to follow up after meeting someone covers the rest of the timing.

Questions

About the generator.

Is the follow-up message generator free?

Yes, with no signup and no email address. Each internet connection gets 10 sets of AI drafts a day, counted in UK time. After that, and whenever the AI cannot write them, you get our templates instead, filled in from what you typed, so there is always something to send.

Do you keep what I type?

No. To write the drafts, what you type is sent to Google’s Gemini API, which writes them and sends them back. Cardr does not store it: it never goes into our database, our logs or our analytics. We count uses without any of the text: that the tool was used, and, until midnight UK time, how many sets each connection has had today. The privacy notice has the detail.

Does it send the message for me?

No. Nothing is sent from this page. Copy the draft you want, change what you like, and send it yourself from your own email, LinkedIn or phone.

Why did I get templates instead of AI drafts?

Because your connection has had today’s 10 sets, several requests came in a row, or the AI could not write them just then. The templates are the ones in our guide to following up after a networking event, with their name, the place and what you talked about filled in. The words still in square brackets are yours to finish.

Is there a figure for how many people never follow up?

Not one we could trace. The rates usually quoted for how many leads are never followed up could not be traced to a published study, so this page quotes none. Our audit of business card statistics shows where each famous figure comes from.
