An Apple Watch business card is a Wallet pass: add your card’s pass to Apple Wallet on your iPhone and Wallet carries it to your paired Watch, where a double-click of the side button opens Wallet and your card’s QR code is a scroll away. Cardr makes the pass free on the web, so there is no Watch app to install. Everything this page says about the Watch is from Apple’s own guides, quoted below and read October 29, 2026.
Three steps, one of them in Apple’s settings.
You make the card once on the web. Wallet does the rest of the work between your iPhone and your Watch.
-
01
Make your card on the web
Type your name, role and how to reach you at cardr.co. The card and its Wallet pass are free, with no app to install on the phone or the Watch.
-
02
Add the pass to Apple Wallet on your iPhone
Tap Add to Apple Wallet on the iPhone that is paired with your Watch. The pass lands in the Wallet app Apple puts on every iPhone.
-
03
Check that Wallet mirrors to the Watch
Apple’s Safari User Guide says a pass added on iPhone is also added to the Watch when Mirror iPhone is on: Apple Watch app, My Watch, Notifications, Wallet & Apple Pay, Mirror my iPhone. Apple’s Watch Ultra guide lists Wallet & Apple Pay straight under My Watch, so look in both places.
Double-click, scroll, hold it up.
On your wrist, with the same pass on your iPhone as the backup.
-
01
Double-click the side button
Or open Wallet on the Watch. The side button is in Apple’s Apple Watch Ultra User Guide (watchOS 10); opening Wallet is in the Apple Watch User Guide (watchOS 27).
-
02
Scroll to your card and tap it
Your pass sits with your other passes and cards. It is named for your company, or for you if you left the company blank.
-
03
Scroll down to the code and hold it up
Apple says you may have to scroll to reach the code. Apple writes this step for a scanner at a gate or checkout; a phone camera reading the code off your wrist is the use we are still checking on a device, so keep the same pass on your iPhone for anyone whose camera won’t read it.
What sits in Wallet is what your wrist shows.
First, the real pass Cardr makes, as it looks in Wallet on iPhone. Then a drawing of the Watch’s Wallet view built from the same fields and the same QR code.

| Part | What Cardr puts there |
|---|---|
| Pass style | A store card, with your design as its artwork strip (the Classic and Brand Color designs use the plain generic style) |
| Barcode | One QR code, a format Apple lists among those Wallet supports |
| What the code opens | Your page at cardr.co/yourname, in the other person’s browser |
| What they do there | Save you to their contacts, and send their own name and number or email back to you |
| When you edit your card | Cardr updates your pass and your page. Apple’s guides do not say how quickly an edit appears on the Watch, so we do not promise a time |
Your card on your wrist, free.
Pick your address, make the card, add it to Wallet on your iPhone.
What Apple’s guides actually say.
We quote Apple rather than paraphrase it, because settings move between watchOS versions. Apple’s watchOS 27 guide covers showing a pass; the sync and remove lines are from its watchOS 10 Watch Ultra guide, the latest that states them. Each was read on October 29, 2026.
Passes in Wallet on your iPhone automatically sync to your Apple Watch Ultra.
When you add a pass to your iPhone, it’s also added to Wallet on Apple Watch, if Mirror iPhone is turned on in the Apple Watch app. In the Apple Watch app, tap My Watch, go to Notifications > Wallet & Apple Pay, then turn on Mirror my iPhone.
Open Wallet on your Apple Watch, then scroll to the pass you want and tap it. Scroll down so the code is visible, then present the code to the scanner.
Double-click the side button, scroll to your pass, then present the barcode to the scanner. You might have to scroll to get to the barcode.
When you remove a pass from one device, it’s also removed from the other.
Users can use passes in Wallet on iPhone and Apple Watch. … Wallet supports 2D barcodes using QR, Aztec, and PDF417 formats.
A Watch app or a Wallet pass.
Some card companies make their own Watch app. A pass does less, and needs nothing installed. Here is the trade.
| Watch app | Wallet pass | |
|---|---|---|
| What you install on the Watch | The company’s app, from the Watch’s App Store | Nothing. Wallet is Apple’s own app |
| How it gets there | The app syncs with its iPhone app | Wallet passes sync from your iPhone, per Apple’s Apple Watch Ultra User Guide (watchOS 10); the current guide covers showing them |
| How you open it | Open the app, or a watch-face shortcut if the app has one | Double-click the side button, or open Wallet |
| What the other person needs | A phone camera, usually | A scanner, per Apple’s guide. Your iPhone shows the same code if their camera won’t read your wrist |
| Extras a Watch app can add | Watch-face shortcuts, notes, switching between several cards | None of those. A pass shows your card and its code |
| Cost | Varies; the card itself is often free | Free: the card, the pass and the page |
Cardr has no Watch app. The Wallet column is from Apple’s guides, read October 29, 2026; what a Watch app does varies by company, so check the one you are considering.
Showing it from your phone instead? It is the same pass: see the Apple Wallet business card guide, or how Cardr works from the other person’s side.
Apple Watch cards, answered.
Can I put my business card on my Apple Watch?
Yes, as a Wallet pass. Apple’s Watch Ultra guide (watchOS 10) says passes in Wallet on your iPhone sync to the Watch automatically, and its Safari guide says a pass added on iPhone also goes to the Watch when Mirror iPhone is on. Make a free Cardr card, add its pass to Wallet on your iPhone, and it can show on the Watch with no Watch app.
Do I need an Apple Watch app for a digital business card?
Not with a Wallet pass: Wallet is already on the Watch. A card company’s own Watch app can add things a pass cannot, such as a watch-face shortcut or notes on the people you meet. If you want those, look at an app; if you want your card and its code on your wrist, a pass is enough.
How do I show my business card QR code on Apple Watch?
Double-click the side button, scroll to your card, tap it and scroll down to the code, as Apple’s guide describes, then hold it up to their phone or scanner. If their camera struggles with the small screen, show the same pass on your iPhone.
Why is my pass on my iPhone but not on my Watch?
Check the Mirror my iPhone setting first: in the Apple Watch app on your iPhone, My Watch, then Wallet & Apple Pay (Apple’s Safari guide puts it under Notifications). Apple also notes that removing a pass from one device removes it from the other, so a pass deleted on the Watch is gone from the iPhone too.
Does the person I meet need an app or an Apple Watch?
No. They scan your code with their phone’s camera, iPhone or Android, usually from your iPhone’s Wallet, and your page opens in their browser. They never get your pass. From your page they save you to their contacts and can send their details back to you.
Can I share my card from Apple Watch with NameDrop?
NameDrop is Apple’s own contact swap, and Apple lists recent Apple Watch models among the devices it works with. It shares your contact card, not a Cardr card. Our NameDrop comparison sets out when each is the better choice.
Is it free?
Yes. The card, the Wallet pass, your page and the contacts people send you are free, with no card details. Cardr Pro is the follow-up: messages drafted for the people you met and a reminder on the day to send them.
Make the card your Watch will show.
Free, with no card details. Add it to Wallet on your iPhone and it can travel to your wrist.
