Intaglio: an engraved digital business card template.
Intaglio is an engraved digital business card template: a rosette of fine light-blue lines on near-black, with your name set in a serif at the left. The engraving is computed from your name, so two people on Intaglio get two different patterns. It is a Pro design.

What it is made of.
Ink-dark navy, three steps from #05080f to #0e1a34, engraved with layer on layer of hairlines in a pale blue (rgb 150, 190, 255) that loop into a rosette on the right of the band. Where the lines are densest, Cardr's brand blue glows through. Your name sits clear of the figure in Iowan Old Style, a serif, with a short rule beneath it, and a small serial computed from your name is printed in the top corner, the way a banknote carries its number.

Who should wear Intaglio.
People whose work is trust: advisors, lawyers, partners, founders raising money. It reads as a certificate or a passport page, which is the register those meetings are in. It is the most detailed design in the set, so if you want the card to stay out of the way, Oxford is the same navy without the engraving.
How it reads in a dim room.
The dark ground keeps the screen calm in a dim bar, and the white rows measure among the highest contrast of the sixteen. The engraving is decoration only: it sits in the band above the rows and never behind your number or the QR code, so it cannot make anything harder to read.
19.7:1text contrast · 7:1 is the bar
Measured from the pass's own colors, by the WCAG contrast formula. 21:1 is black on white; the line marks 7:1, the bar for small text. This is a dark card.
Top to bottom, on the pass.

- Your name, in the artworkDrawn into the band across the top of the pass. A long name shrinks, then wraps, rather than being cut off.
- Your role and companyOne row under the band, in Apple's system font.
- Your phone numberTappable on your own phone.
- The QR codeOn the white plate Wallet draws at the bottom. It opens your page at cardr.co/yourname.

The rosette is held to the right of the band and the name to the left, so a long name never crosses the figure; past a certain width it shrinks, then breaks onto a second line.

Intaglio, answered.
Is the engraving really different for every person?
Yes. The pattern is drawn by a function seeded with your name, and the serial in the corner is the same seed written out. Change the name on your card and the engraving is drawn again.
Is Intaglio a real metal card?
No. It is a design for the Apple Wallet pass on your phone. If you want a physical metal card, Cardr Metal is an engraved aluminum card with a QR code that opens your live card, UK only for now.
Does Intaglio need Pro?
Yes. Every card starts in Oxford, the free design; Pro unlocks Intaglio and the other fourteen, and you switch in your card's editor.
