Oxford: a free Apple Wallet business card template.
Oxford is a free Apple Wallet business card template: a deep navy pass with your name in white, a cool light across the top and a QR code the other person scans to save you. It is the design every Cardr card starts in, and it stays free with no time limit.

What it is made of.
Navy, graded from #1e3560 at the top left to almost black (#080f1c) in the lower right, with a soft blue-white light laid across the top corner and a shadow pooled in the opposite one. Your name is drawn into the artwork band in Helvetica Neue, white, at the left. There is no ornament, no monogram and no texture. It is the plainest dark design in the set, and that restraint is the reason it was chosen as the free one.

Who should wear Oxford.
Anyone who wants a card that reads as a business card and nothing more: sales, recruiting, consulting, finance, a first job. Navy is what printed cards default to, so nobody reads it as a statement. If your field rewards a little flair (design, hospitality, events), look at Dusk or Aurora; if you want warmth, Oxblood is the formal alternative that is not blue.
How it reads in a dim room.
White type on navy measures well above the 7:1 that WCAG asks of small text, so your role and number stay legible at a glance. In a dim room the dark field keeps the screen from glaring, and the white QR plate Wallet draws at the bottom becomes the brightest thing on the phone, which is what the other camera finds first.
16.2:1text contrast · 7:1 is the bar
Measured from the pass's own colors, by the WCAG contrast formula. 21:1 is black on white; the line marks 7:1, the bar for small text. This is a dark card.

- Your name, in the artworkDrawn into the band across the top of the pass. A long name shrinks, then wraps, rather than being cut off.
- Your role and companyOne row under the band, in Apple's system font.

- The QR codeOn the white plate Wallet draws at the bottom. It opens your page at cardr.co/yourname.

Oxford carries nothing in the top corner of the band, so a long name has the full width before it shrinks or breaks onto a second line.

Oxford, answered.
Is the Oxford template really free?
Yes. Oxford is the design on Cardr's free plan, with no trial period and no card details. The free plan also includes the signed Wallet pass, your page at cardr.co/yourname, the QR code and the contact list every exchange fills.
How do I add the Oxford card to Apple Wallet?
Make your card on this page with your name, role and number. Cardr signs a .pkpass file for you, and on an iPhone you tap Add to Apple Wallet. The pass then sits in Wallet beside your other cards and opens from the lock screen.
How do I update the card in Wallet?
Change your details in your card’s editor. Your pass redraws itself in Wallet, your page follows, and the QR code stays the same.
Does the person I meet need an iPhone?
No. Only you need an iPhone for the Wallet pass. They scan the QR code with any phone’s camera and your page opens in their browser.
Does the card work with no signal?
Your pass is stored in Wallet on your phone, so it opens and shows its QR code with no signal. The person who scans it needs a connection to open your page.
Does it show on Apple Watch?
Yes. Apple’s guides say a pass added on your iPhone is also added to Wallet on a paired Apple Watch when Mirror iPhone is on for Wallet, and you show it by double-clicking the side button. The steps are on our Apple Watch business card page.
Can I keep Oxford after I upgrade?
Yes. Pro adds fifteen more designs; it does not take Oxford away, and plenty of Pro holders stay in it.
Can I switch to another design later?
Yes, on Pro, which opens the other 15. Your pass redraws itself in Wallet and the QR code stays the same.
Put your name on Oxford.
Oxford is the free design, for good. Your card, your page and every contact you swap are yours.
