  • Galleries exhibit, artists visit

    Most fairs show work through galleries, so as an artist you are there to meet them, not to sell from a booth. A short card with your site and a few images is what a gallerist can follow up on.

  • Ask before you pitch

    Fair days are selling days for galleries. Ask if they have a minute, swap details, and leave the portfolio conversation for the follow-up email.

  • Note which booth and which work

    You will talk to dozens of people across a fair. Note the gallery, the booth and the work you discussed, so your follow-up shows you were paying attention.

What are the biggest art fairs in the US?

Art Basel Miami Beach, Frieze Los Angeles, Frieze New York and The Armory Show are the best known. We could not confirm 2027 dates for any of them on their official sites when we checked, so they are not in the table yet.

Can artists show at art fairs without a gallery?

Most major fairs admit galleries, not individual artists. Some smaller and newer fairs take artists directly; each fair’s site says who can apply.

When is NADA New York 2027?

May 12 to 16, 2027, at the Starrett-Lehigh Building in New York, according to the New Art Dealers Alliance’s site.
