Add a signature on iPhone.

Make the signature on your phone, paste it into Settings, and if the formatting disappears, shake the phone to bring it back. That last part is not a joke.

On iPhone: Settings, Apps, Mail, Signature, then paste. If the formatting flattens, shake the iPhone straight away and tap Undo on “Undo Change Attributes”. On versions before iOS 18 the path is Settings, Mail, Signature.

Nothing is stored. No images and no web fonts unless you choose them, so it renders the same in every mail client.

Make it on the iPhone and copy

Open this page in Safari on the iPhone, fill in the generator and tap Copy signature. Copying on the phone itself is what carries the formatting across.

Open the Mail signature setting

Open Settings, tap Apps, tap Mail, then tap Signature under Composing. Before iOS 18 it is Settings, Mail, Signature.

Choose which accounts

Choose All Accounts, or Per Account to give one account its own signature.

Clear it and paste

Delete the existing text (“Sent from my iPhone”), then touch and hold in the field and tap Paste.

If it went plain, shake

iPhone Mail often strips the colours and links a moment after you paste. Shake the iPhone straight away and tap Undo on the Undo Change Attributes prompt, and the formatting comes back. No prompt? Check Settings, Accessibility, Touch, Shake to Undo is on, or swipe left with three fingers instead.

Go back to save

Tap back out of the screen. The signature is saved as it is, and appears on the next message you start.

Apple describes Mail signatures on iPhone as text only, so a picture in the signature is dropped here. Links and colours come through when the undo step works.
